Tips for Better Search Results
Filing Number - Typically if you have the
filing number this will return the most accurate report. However, this
number is not necessary to find what you are looking for.
Debtor - If you know the name of the Debtor
enter it here. You may enter first name, last name or both. If unsure of
spelling you may want to try several variations (Mike instead of Michael for
example).
Secured Party - If you know the name of the
party with the secured interest enter it here. It can be an individual or
company. You may enter part of company name or first name, last name or both
first and last names of individuals. If unsure of spelling you may want to try
several variations (Mike instead of Michael for example) or leave this blank if
unsure.
FID Number - Typically if you have the FID
number (aka Federal ID Number - sometimes an EIN or SSN) this will return the
most accurate report based on this number being used to file the
UCC. However, this number is not necessary to find what you are looking
for.
Street Number - If you want to limit your
search to a specific address number or don't know the street name but you're
sure of the street number, you can enter it here. This field is not required.
Street # "From" - This is the beginning
street number of an address if searching for a range of addresses. If you're
not sure of the exact street number and want to search a range you can do that
by entering the starting number here.
Street # "To" - This is the ending street
number of an address if searching for a range of addresses. If you're looking
for multiple records on a street you can enter the range and use this field for
the last number in the range.
Street - This is the actual street name only
not the number. If you know the name of the street enter it here for a narrow
search. If you entered the debtor name and/or Secured Party name and they are
common names or if you only entered a first name or last name entering the
street name can help narrow down the results. This can also limit a broad
search if your subject used a different address than the one you entered.
City - If you know the city you can enter it
here. Leaving it blank may produce a broader range of results depending on what
other info you entered.
ZIP Code - If you know the zip code you can
enter it here. Leaving it blank may produce a broader range of results
depending on what other info you entered.
